Yin yoga is a gentle, calm form of yoga that invites you to stand still for a moment and come to yourself. It is a moment when you don’t have to do or achieve anything, but can just be.
In yin yoga you stay in relaxed positions for a longer period of time, often supported by pillows or blankets. This helps you to release your muscles and feel deeper into your body. You focus mainly on stretching the connective tissue and joints, which slowly creates more space and flexibility.
It feels a bit like giving yourself a break – a deep breath for both your body and your mind. Yin yoga is gentle, not only for your body but also for your mind. It invites you to listen to what you need with gentleness and without judgement. It is a moment of surrender and rest, like coming home to yourself.
At the same time, yin yoga challenges you to seek out the ‘orange zone’ in terms of stretch in the body. A slightly palpable stretch that afterwards provides space and recovery of blockages and energy.
Yin yoga can mean so much to everyone. It can contribute to relaxation, recovery of muscles and connective tissue, getting in touch with yourself, calming your head and thoughts.

Meike is an intuitive and dedicated woman with a deep passion for health, consciousness and movement. Since 2025 she has been guiding students at Del Ferro to come home to their bodies. To soften, to feel and to be truly present, with the help of yoga.
For years she lived from her head, driven by goals, achievements and discipline. Until her body forced her to stand still and listen. With yoga she found the way back to herself, to her feelings and to the inner strength that had always been hidden within her.
